The California Council on Economic Education (CCEE) provides economics and financial literacy training and resources to K-12 teachers, students and their parents, throughout California. Our mission is to help California’s students gain a real world understanding of economics and personal finance, so they can make better decisions and compete and succeed in the global economy. We work to provide best-in-class content, curriculum and pedagogy in economics and personal finance so that teachers and students alike engage with the material and transform their communities by being economically and financially literate.

The California History-Social Science Project  is a statewide network of teachers, scholars, and teacher educators dedicated to improving student learning and literacy.  We offer teacher professional learning programs, instructional resources, and most recently, served as the Primary Writers of California’s new History-Social Science Framework. Headquartered at UC Davis, our network also includes five regional sites:  at UC Irvine (serving San Diego and Orange Counties), UCLA and CSU Dominguez Hills (serving the greater Los Angeles region), UC Berkeley (serving the San Francisco Bay Area), and UC Davis (serving Sacramento Valley).

The DBQ Project was founded in 2000 to support teachers and students in learning to read smart, think straight, and write more clearly. As teachers, we believe all students can develop high-level critical thinking skills if they have consistent instruction and a chance to practice. We also believe that when we provide teachers with materials that blend educational best practices  and content-specific questions, we promote and support transformational change in our schools.

By integrating the study of history, literature, and human behavior with ethical decision making and innovative teaching strategies, Facing History and Ourselves enables secondary school teachers to promote students’ historical understanding, critical thinking, and social-emotional learning.  As students explore the complexities of history, and make connections to current events, they reflect on the choices they confront today and consider how they can make a difference.  Facing History provides teachers with interactive strategies and curriculum as well as professional development opportunities.   Facing History is committed to teachers and students in underserved urban areas, which represent over 60% of our work in schools. By providing content and pedagogy that increases teacher effectiveness and stimulates students to learn at the highest level, Facing History works to bridge the opportunity gap that impedes success for young people in under-resourced communities.
